When do we receive our race numbers?

Please collect them from registration on race day, please arrive nice and early.

Prizes?

Marathon
Men: 1st, 2nd, 3rd
Women: 1st, 2nd, 3rd

Half Marathon
Men: 1st, 2nd, 3rd
Women: 1st, 2nd, 3rd

What is the terrain?

This race will be on roads with hills, one or two big hills! Most of the surface is man made (tarmac, concrete etc.) with some fantastic Yorkshire views! The last two or three miles is a lovely long down hill or was it up hill...

What kit do I need to bring on the day?

There are several things that you will need on the day to help you to perform your best. The following list is just a suggestion of what we have found useful such as talk to other athletes, Marathoners, join a local club who will be able to give you some great advice and develop a list to best suit you. * Warm/suitable clothes for prior to and after the event. * Safety pins - e.g. for race numbers * Race numbers - pinned/attached to your race t-shirt/top or race belt, and any medical conditions clearly written on the back of your number. You will need to show your race numbers for the duration of the Marathon and at prize giving   Map of how to get to the event venue.
Mandatory kit - unless the weather forecast is very bad there is no mandatory kit, however if the weather forecast is bad (blizzards, heavy rain/winds etc) full body cover (long sleeve windproof top & bottoms) will be required. We will try and notify you by text & or email if we are expecting this but it is suggested you bring it just in case, you can always leave it in your car or with luggage storage, if you do not need it.

I am unable to compete - Can I give my place to another person?

The simple answer is NO, it causes far too many issues with registration both prior too and on event day, causes issues with timing and as a result means we do not offer this option. Please don't ask!

How can I check race results?

Final race results will be published within two days after the race ends, on our website under the 'Results' page. On the day results will be available from the Race Results centre, which will be somewhere near the Finish Line.

Can under 18-year olds enter your events?

We are sorry but due to Child Protection and Insurance restrictions, we do not currently allow any under 18-year olds to enter our events. (except fun run)

But keep in touch or drop us an email as this might be changing.

Cut off times?

Cut off time of 6 hours 30 minutes, after that any water stations etc will close. We will continue to have a manual timer until eight hours.

Do I need to bring any forms with me?

No, at registration you will need to provide your name and address details & an emergency contact. If you have decided to give your place to someone else it is important that you let us know at registration so that we can update our records in case of an emergency, and for timing purposes. You will also need to provide proof of payment.

Are there any water / feed stations?

The following is TBC but use as a guideline for now.
There will be water/fuel stations at approximately three mile intervals around the course. Stations will have water. They’re staffed by volunteers and local charities..  Please be especially lovely to them as they are giving up their time in order that you have a marvellous race.

Key points to remember:
  • Don't crowd around at the start of the drinks stations - Grab your drink and keep moving or move to the side of the station if you want to stop and chat.
  • If you are going to stop, look behind you and move to the side. Don't suddenly stop in the middle of the station or anywhere on the course.
  • Don't drink it all. Take a few sips at every station, but don't overdo it.
  • Try to hit the rubbish bags with your bottle or discard your bottle carefully. Look where you're placing it and think of others.
  • Please if you drop your sausage or cake leave it and collect a fresh one on your second lap!
  • Be careful at all times. It’s easy to trip over a bottle or bump into another runner.

Where do I park?

The venue has parking £3.00 per car, less than 30 seconds walk from the start & registration area.
